Hola, como estas?

after months of preparing to come to spain i can't believe i am finally here; it seems so surreal! i feel so blessed to have this opportunity.

negatives:
  • i had to sit by someone who was throwing up on the plane.
  • everyone thinks i know spanish, i defiantly don't.
  • jen and i are probably the two worst people at directions.  hence why we get lost so much.
positives:
  • i absolutely love my family i am staying with.
  • i am catching on to some spanish.
  • i love the 30 students i am studying with.
  • i lucked out having jen as my roommate.
  • i love the food.  tapas is my favorite.
  • the weather is great.
  • i love spain's architecture.
  • people don't go to bed till after midnight.
  • everything is walking distance.
  • i can skype my family from home.
  • shopping is great.
  • i will probably live here forever one day.  maybe.
my family would probably miss me too much.
 ADVENTURES OF THE WEEK:

  • puerta del sol. madrid, spain.
  • plaza mayor. madrid, spain.
tapas.  best food ever and famous in spain.

cafe in the town square.  alcala, spain.
adorable andrew.  directors son.
my cute home.
jenny and i got hungry.  we saw a churro stand and knew what had to be done.  we asked for two hot chocolates and one churro to share.  wrong idea because the hot chocolate is like fudge in a cup!  the guy told us to drink it...so we did, but later we found out you are supposed to dip the churro in the chocolate. we are really healthy, we know.  hole is one...hole in one.

  2. What?! You have to study while you're there. I hope it doesn't interfere with your fun too much. P.S. I found your blog from facebook.

  4. Ha, that's funny the guy made you drink the chocolate! It looks like you're having a blast (I wondered who that random kid was!) Lexi, people don't take kindly to you picking up their kids if they don't know you! (that was going to be my advice to you when I saw the pic on facebook... until your blog explained it! Have fun, eat well... it all looks delish!
